Sketch Design Studies
Hand sketch studies using layers of trace paper is our preferred method of beginning the design process. Sketching begins the task of organizing an open space within the context of a site’s surroundings and natural features. It positions existing and proposed buildings and structures, the location of natural and man-made features, and provides connections for users and stakeholders of the space. Much like a painting or photography, sketching creates a composition that studies proportion and balance.
