About Jon
Jon is a licensed and CLARB certified landscape architect and has been practicing landscape architecture since 1987. His career journey includes work in the US, Canada and the United Kingdom. He has been both a project landscape architect and prime consultant for planning, design and construction of outdoor environments in a variety of practice areas including local and state government facilities, K-12 schools, higher education, retail, commercial, public parks, residential, healthcare and senior living.
Jon began his career in Syracuse, New York and Boston, Massachusetts and later moved to England to expand his knowlege of European cultures, art, architecture, and design. Jon started his own consultancy, Ouellette & Associates, in 2006 in Colorado.
Jon's passion for the art and science of landscape architecture continues to drive him to provide better design and ideas by listening, learning, interacting, and collaborating with private and public clients, members of the community, stakeholders and fellow design professionals.
He brings a collaborative, disciplined approach and deep understanding of the inner workings of complex, varied project types, design thinking, process and coordination while protecting the goals and objectives of the client. Jon actively seeks sustainable design solutions in aspects of products, materials, constructability, practices and maintenance as well as planning and building for the long term. His record of project management, communication skills, attention to detail, quality control, risk management, and collaborative work style has lead to successful projects and happy clients throughout his career.
